Scenes Of Early Days

These are the scenes from the early days of our boy. I have to take out the earlier video because it wasn't working properly. Those who watch, please leave comments if the video does not run properly. Thanks...

MATA...HATI...JIWA...

Yang, I'd like to dedicate the song to you. The lyrics to me is beautiful and really sums up my feelings towards you. Hope you like it...

Maafkan aku...
Mengganggu...
cuma ku ingin kau tahu
ruangan di hatiku hanyalah untukmu
hari-hariku
yang berlalu
riang ceria kernamu..
mana adanya aku..
pasti ada kamu
andainya engkau tahu perasaan hatiku
pastinya kau kan tersenyum lewati manis harimu
biarkan dunia tahu teguh hanya teguh kerna kamu
maafkan aku mengganggumu
di lewat malam2 mu
ingin ku temanimu sebelum lenamu
izinkan aku dekatimu
inginku tawan cintamu agar dapatku jadi dewata hatimu
andainya engkau tahu perasaan hatiku
pastikan kau kan tersenyum lewati manis harimu
biarkan dunia tahu teguh akar cintaku kerna kamu
maafkan aku mengganggumu
di lewat malam2mu
inginku temanimu sebelum lenamu
izinkan aku dekatimu
inginku tawan cintamu agar dapatku jadi dewata hatimu
andainya engkau tahu perasaan hatiku
pastinya kau kan tersenyum lewati manis harimu
biarkan dunia tahu teguh akar cintaku kerna kamu
kau segalanya....
andainya engkau tahu
perasaan hatiku pastikan kau kan tersenyum
lewati manis harimu
biarkan dunia tahu teguh hanya cintaku kerna kamu

Good News, Bad News

Good news : You are going to be promoted.

Bad news : You are not to leave whatever you are doing now.

In short, I was supposed to report to a new place and to cover new areas, a normal procession in civil service. The movement is designed so that you will encumber yourself with as much knowledge and experience and be well-equipped once you hold senior posts later in your career. The worst that could happen to a civil servant is to be trapped in one post for longer than necessary, doing the same job and becoming specialised in one field. If that happens, your career path will be cast in stone and you are doomed practically (I'm speaking purely on a logical conjecture, but I never discount the fact that Allah will eventually deal a good hand if you do your work sincerely and with all amanah).

At this point, I am really on the threshold of entering the least favoured path in the service.

What should have been good news turned out to be one of the more frustrating ones. Let's just hope that there's hikmah behind all this. Insya Allah...

Penyakit Kulit

Hari ni aku cuti kecemasan. Badan aku kegatalan tanpa sebab. Orang kedah panggil sopak garam. Kawan aku kata kelopak garam.

I am too lazy to write. My bum is still sore from Saturday's 4 hrs of riding & pushing (mostly pushing) the bike up and down the hill. But, I definitely will not listen to Auzir anymore, hahahahaha...

After an absence of three years, the stork is heading this way again.

Insya Allah, in the next 9 months,by the grace of Allah, Aily & I will be going through all the experience of bringing another soul into this world for the second time. The news came as a surprise for the both of us since we were not "vigorously" trying to enlarge the family at the moment.Emil has proved to be quite a terror and we were still adjusting to our new timetable (work + study).Just like last time, it happened when we were least expecting it.However, it is a pleasant surprise, nevertheless.

We could not really determine the age of the pregnancy since Aily could not remember the last time she had her period. But it could not be more than 8 weeks. The visit to the doctor only revealed that the place for the baby in the womb is ready. We are advised to come back next month. Some say, at this stage, it is still early to say anything and it is better to wait until the first trimester to be over before telling everybody. Crap. What's wrong with telling and sharing the wonderful news with everybody? I know pregnancy is very delicate and anything can happen for the next 9 months. But, isn't all that in Allah's hands?

Aily is already having her morning, afternoon, evening and night sickness. She could not smell the smell of cooking. Only the back is killing her.So far, she has not asked for anything yet. I hope things will be like when she was carrying Emil. We have already taken out all the minyak urut and minyak panas for the feet. Let's just hope that we will only be needing that in the later stage.

We have also started throwing ideas to Emil that he is soon to have brother/sister, that Mama got baby in the stomach. I think he does not understand just yet. But he will be soon when Aily's stomach is getting bigger...

As for me, I am just happy that our rezeki is really murah in this department of life. We may have not won lucky draws as often as we like, but when I draw my tutttttt, sure lucky one mehh...hahahahah

He Got It, Finally...

He got it, finally. Who? Emil la, who else?

Emil is getting naughtier by the day and our patience are running really, really thin sometimes. Last night, we took him to the mart near our place. Punya la degil. I have to dragged him to get into the car after we did our shopping. While I was closing the door, aku dah angin dah to the max....then, PANGGGGGG...one tight slap on the buttocks. Not that I have not slapped him before but honest to god, that was the tightest slap I ever gave.

A few moments of silence. Then he started to profusely asked for his Mama's forgiveness. He dared only to speak to me after we got home.

Not long after that, he was back his usual self. Jumping, running, wrestling, the whole works.

Hmmmm, boys will be boys.

Murzali Part II

This posting is long overdue...

I met Murzali a few weeks back. Yes, the Murzali. The object of my curiousity in one of my previous postings. And we talked. Murzali's not actually a stranger to me since we did spend one year in UM together doing CLP. He passed. I did not. We crossed paths again not long after that. We were two of 3 candidates being interviewed for a post in Petronas few months after our CLP session ended. He got it. I did not.

To recap, the object of my curiousity then was why on earth Murzali bothered to register as a member of MCOBA since he only spent few weeks in koleq. To my surprise, he read it. Never in my wildest dream that that particular posting will find its way to him.

Naturally the topic of our conversation revolved around that posting. He contended that spent more than few weeks in Koleq. He demanded that I re-post to rectify the facts. He stopped short of demanding full apology, though.

So, here I am. Murzali, if you are reading this, if you did spend more than few weeks in koleq, I stand corrected. And I apologised. The posting was never meant to deny your rights to join MCOBA. Reportedly, YM Tg Razaleigh Hamzah is also a member though he spent only 3 great days in koleq before moving on to Anderson. On that token, you are more rightful to join MCOBA.

But I am no less curious...

p/s : you just don't have any idea what you have missed, my friend...

9/9/06

Turned out that the modem is not the only problem. The router too was not well. Thanks to my brother, he has taken the router to get it fixed. How? I don't know. But for now, I have to contend with having wires around the computer.
Today, I will be starting a new chapter in my life. My CLP class is starting today and only in August next year that I will have my life back. Classes will be on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Poor Aily, she is not going to like this at all.
Let's just hope that I will have enough strength to carry this through. And of course the strength to study too. Itulah, dulu orang suruh study betoi2, dok pi main.
Abon is yet to update his blog on his life in cosmopolitan London. Mpro have stopped(suspended???) blogging until further notice. So does Pyan. Hopefully, they will resume blogging after finishing whatever business they are concentrating on now.
Emil is getting naughtier. Last night, he won't let me sleep in the room, tears and all. Hopefully, it is just a phase. If it is not, teruk la...

Yooohoooo...

Aku takde niat lagi nak give up blogging. My absence is due to, among others, the problem I'm having with the internet connection kat rumah aku.

CLP

I have registered. And the class starts in September. And the exam will be in July 2007.

It will be one year of hard work and slogging. I need all the strength and luck in this world.

Insya Allah, I will give it my best...

Dinner with Fadli

Fadli was in town last week and I wasted no time to 'pau' his hard earned money. We had dinner at One Utama on the pretext of Fadli being promoted as Audit Manager with GE. Rough & his latest jambu joined us for the dinner. Here's the pics...

Say What????

You just can' reason with kids. You can't win and probably never will.

In my latest attempt to get Emil to buckle up in the car, I told him that the characters in "Little Einsteins", one of his favourite cartoon shows, always wear their seatbealts whenever they start their adventure. The only difference is, the Little Einsteins fly in an aeroplane.

I was so sure of my success that I was smiling even before I finished my sentence. Then came the reply, "...nanti Emil naik aeroplane, Emil pakai la seatbelt...".

Say what???

The Best Gift Of All...

Most of the time, it is the physical traits that are often being compared to the parents. Even when the child is only barely days old, friends, relatives will pass comments such as, '...hmmm, telinga macam mama die la..." or "...mmmmm, mata macam abah die...".

But, in our case, for the past 2++ years, we only have this to endure : "...hmmmm, budak ni ikut rupa sapa hah???".

Family...

blah..blah..blah...

Today is not particularly a good day at work by any standard. One of the staff went off to attend a compulsory course and the other who was supposed to carry the load in her absence conveniently took medical leave. &^&^&%&^%%$***))(&*&%^... The first half of the morning was spent answering the phone calls and clearing the desk of last weeks' mails. Rasa macam nak makan orang pun ada. What with the PTK exam looming over in a week & we (aily & I ) have not started anything yet. The only saving grace was my paper for a small project in Besut was approved without much fuss by the tender board.
Aily has been complaining that this blog is fast becoming a hangat-hangat tahi ayam project as I have no postings worth noting in the past month. Has it been that long? When I started the blog, I never expected writing would be this hard. While talk is cheap, it is not so when it comes to put things down in writing.
I am planning to re-sit for my CLP examination next year. Yes, the exam which caused so much misery & heartache the last time I sat for it. Well actually, I am still gathering the willpower and strength as well as focus to do it. Insyaallah... I have called a college which offers classes to prepare for the exams and if I were to attend it, I will practically signing my social life away until August 07...well, not that I have an active one to begin with...hahahaah...

Final WC 2006

Just as much as I want to watch Germany v France in the final with France eventually hoisting the trophy, I would also like it to be France v Italy. By having a final featuring France & Italy, my good friend Mpro will stand a chance to reclaim the bet which he lost during the Euro 2000.

so, Mpro...the usual lah kot?

les blues...

Brazil exited the WC 06 thanks to the magnificent display of spirited football by the French team. Zidane was a joy to watch while Ronaldinho was looking lost of some sort on the field.

Yeahahahaha...let it be Germany v France in the final...

updates...

laaa...dah dekat sebulan tak update blog...lama jugak aku tinggal...

Just as I was writing this, Portugal WC team is rejoicing the win against England which brought them to their first semi final of the competition in 40 years. And England extended their worst record in the penalty shoot out. As our 2 past colonial masters battling it out on the field, I was quietly hoping that it will be England that will go through to the semis. It's not that I like the team, it's just that I really hate one Mr Cristiano Ronaldo. Tak tau pasal apa, tapi memang la aku tak suka langsung mamat tu.

Having said that, just what the hell was Crouch doing in Germany? Or in the EPL for that matter?

Reunion 9094 DVD

Credit to Awie for the production of 9094 Reunion DVD. Aptly titled "Kehidupan.Segelintir.Yang.Terlampau", it contains graphic depiction
of the lives of most of those who spent a significant part of their lives in Koleq.
I lost count of the one finger salute halfway through the show.

Lantai T.Pinkie : The Review

Let's start with an exception. Lantai T.Pinkie, this time around was actually a musical which is not exactly my cup of tea.
That aside, IMHO, the play turned out to be quite a disappointment. The acting was so-so and there was hardly chemistry between the actors. There was no spark in it. Try as I might, I find it impossible to emphatise with the lead character, Pinkie (Nasha). The pain & suffering of being a 'perempuan joget' and later 'forced wife' of Gonjuloh did not really get to me. There was only one scene to potray that their marriage was not a happy one. This, I think, was not sufficient.
The strongest acting came form 'Nyai Sunarti', played by Azizah Mahzan. And by this, I really mean her acting as I couldn't really make what she was saying most of time. She was speaking Jawa Kuno, I think.
On the upside, however, Nasha's back side was not a disappointing, hehehehe. It was 'tonggek' to the max. Meminjam kata T.Pinkie, "...'T' bukan untuk 'Tengku','T' untuk 'tonggek'...".But, the best bod last night was not Nasha's but Vanida Imran's.
Anyway, walaupun cerita tak best, ambik gambar tetap ambik gambar...hehehehe...

...abaikan minah tudung putih tu...menyibuk je...

Lantai T.Pinkie

We, my wife & I, are going to watch Lantai T.Pinkie at Istana Budaya tonight. So far the review has been good and the main attraction i.e. back portion of Nasha Aziz's body has been said not to be disappointing. Let me see for myself first & let's just hope that her backside isn't the only thing worth watching tonight.

Boy, has he grown...

Then...
It used to be one-way conversations. It used to be a stationary exercise. It was so easy then. Words were not questioned. Choices never disputed. But, it didn't last very long...and it was good while it lasted...

Now, every sentence gets a reply, every orders defied. Simple acts of feeding has now become a very huge endeavour. The only time he's staying put is when he sleeps...Argggghhh...far from complaining, we are indeed thankful for his presence...Syukur Alhamdulillah...

I am back...

My apologies for the neglect of the blog and letting Makcik Kari headlining the blog for quite some time. No excuse. Just plain lazy.

Many things have happened since the last post. Most notable, I have turned 29 on April 13th. Friends, thanks for the wishes. No gifts, eh? I bought a book as a present for myself. Sad, you think?

Aily sent me for a thai massage at City Square. No hanky panky, maa. Laki yang urut, not even ladyboy.

Also, there was the lepak session after weekly futsal which I managed to attend, taking full advantage of Aily being oustation. Lepas geram. Lama tak lepak. Qourom : myself, Joe, chib, bally, picca. Agenda : kutuk any poor souls yang lalu malam tu. nobody was spared. Chib announced his wedding date. Further details, you will all have to ask him yourself. Or wait for his announcement. He gave his word that there will be a bachelor party before the wedding. Anyway, don't hold your breath though.

My balls are still functioning after taking direct hit during the game.

Kari RM45

Ada baca paper/tgk news 2,3 hari nie? Pasal kari ikan tongkol nasi dagang harga RM45 kat Tganu?
The proprietor mungkin kena saman sebab tak pamer tanda harga.

Congratulations, Mpro

Congratulations Mpro on the arrival of the latest edition of Mpro Junior...You're tha Man...

Kari...

Perhaps, one the most daunting prospect of marrying someone from the northern part of the country is the unenviable task to master the art of preparing fish curry for the husband whose blood is fused with it. And coming from Negeri Sembilan where masak lomak reign supreme, this is no laughing matter.

After 3 years of untiring effort, Aily has made it and today, I am proud to announce to the world (at least to those who are reading this) that my MUCH LOVED WIFE has mastered the art of cooking curry. Orders are welcomed...hehehehehe....

To Aily, thanks for not giving up. Next assignment, sambal tumis petai macam mak buat...

Murzali...

A couple of weeks back, during one of my mengulaq session, I dropped by at the MCOBA Penthouse. Just for the heck of it, I asked the kakak there to check our batch's MCOBA membership. Officialy, there are only for us who have registered & Chibiok is definitely not one of them. But that's a different story for later.

As y'all probably know, one of the four is Sdr Murzali, who spent less than a month in Koleq. However, FYI, MCOBA did run a background check on him as apparently nobody can verify that the poor chap had actually spent some time in Koleq. Having said this, few questions come to mind :

i. Kalau dah orang tu tak pernah masuk koleq, buat apa la dia sibuk2 nak jadi MCOBA member?
ii. Why on earth la the poor chap wants to join MCOBA since he wouldn't have any recollection & association of any sort with koleq?

Intelligence Inflation

Rasanya la, if I were to throw a stone at a crowd somewhere, there's 99.99% guarantee that it will hit a student who got straight As in his SPM. Compared to the time when getting 10A1 will entitle you to an exclusive coverage in all of the major newspapers, getting all As in SPM seems to be the norm these days.

So, intelligence is in abundance these days. Were we not very clever back then or kids nowadays are just getting better & better?

A note of caution : won't this lead to inflation of straight As students in the country?

Push 2 Talk

If you are a tv addict like myself, it is highly unlikely that you have not come across the advertisement about Hotlink's latest product. You should know which one. The 'push to talk one'. Remember? Yes, that advert la. The one where one idiot suddenly draw inspirations to jam with his friends thru his mobile phone. Remember? Yes, that one la.

If you have not seen the advert, consider yourself lucky. Annoying gile iklan tu. Dah le annoying, tv asyik le pulak ulang. Running time pulak panjang. Sakit hati aku.

Lagi aku tengok advert tu, lagi meluat aku. Geli-geleman pun ada. Korang tak rasa macam tu ke? The part which I hate most is that part when the guy on the bicycle sings. Ishhhhh, rasa nak penampar pun ada. Lagi sorang nak kena penampar, budak pompuan kat dalam iklan tu. Diorang ingat abis hip hop la tu.

Mintak simpang la keturunan aku buat perangai lagu tu.

NON SEQUITUR

The comic strip is conspicuously missing from NST immediately after the uproar against it.

It is a shame that the outcome of the uproar against the cartoon strip resulted in the cartoon not being published again in the NST. I read NST everyday and the strip is one of the things that I look forward to everyday. IMHO, the cartoon is a good piece and witty.

The matter has not been handled well, I think.Further, I think too many people wanted to be seen to be in thick of the action that the handling of the matter was quite a spectacle in itself.

For now, I am left with reruns of 'Baby Blues' and 'Peanuts'.

UHUK...UHUK...

I have officially contributed to the statistics. My car was broken into last Thursday. Lost my laptop & digital camera and few work as well as personal documents. All in one bag. Estimation of losses RM7k. The bugger who did this must be grinning like monkeys until today. Celaka punya pencuri. Dah la laptop beli pakai loan....cermin kereta pulak kena ganti...Celaka laha kau..may you burn in hell....die...die...die....

It is quite depressing when you know you can't really feel sad as the hope of getting it back is nil, none whatsoever and the only thing you can do is to curse yourself in silence for not listening to your wife when she reminds you to put those things in the trunk.

It is also quite depressing when the words of sympathy offered to you upon relating the mishap quickly turned into quiet and in most cases, not-so-quiet disdain when you tell them that where the bag actually was...("Hmmmmm, patut la...")

But the saddest part of all (I guess this happpens to everybody who have experienced this one way or another) is losing all the pictures stored in the computer. That is priceless. The pics of the Emil's early years are now gone and irreplaceable. And even after these few days, the thought of losing all the pics makes me feel down a bit.

I now learnt my lesson and I hope I learnt it well...

Fotopages Mpro; Tribute to a Friend

Mpro (pronounced 'emperor') dah ada fotopages. Aku letakkan link kat sebelah nie, so sesapa yang berminat boleh drop by...

To the uninitiated, Mpro is a very, very good friend of mine. The friendship stretches back to our schooldays in Kuala Kangsar. I was one (and there were so many) of the beneficiaries of his & his parents' generosity which know no bounds.

He is now living in Melaka with his wife & a son and welcomes anyone who dares to fight him on a round of golf.

Children Learn What They Live

Yang,

Abah came across this beautiful poem by Dorothy Law Neite while surfing the Net. Good pointers for us in raising Emil...

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If a child learns to feel shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement he learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to find love in the world.

A Matter of Style

This is a good one...

There was once a plane crash, and when the lady sole-survivor regained consciousness, she found herself surrounded by `savages`.

Fearing for her life she started `Me no hostile, me no hostile..`

At which, the Chief responded:`Lady, me know all style - dog style, horse style etc`

Hahahahah....

Handphone In Schools

This is the excerpt taken from today's Utusan Malaysia's headline.

There you have it. You have got to hand it to this guy. His argument alone will make Kementerian Pelajaran officials squirm in their seats and retract the permission for the students to use handphones in school come Monday.
Come on. There are surely 1,000,001 other arguments against the usage of handphones and this 'distinguished' chap could only come up with this lousy one. I bet he was one of those students who use to do just that, albeit using comparatively more primitive tools...heheheheh...
Nevertheless, to give him the benefit of my doubt, he could have listed the other 1,000,001 arguments during the interview. Probably the reporter wanted to be particularly funny. Worse still, this could have been the only one worth reporting. However, this one comment from the former D-G of Education worth noting.
Well, you decide.

Tana Umaga's Retirement

Tana Umaga, captain of the All Blacks and one of the good guys of the world rugby announces his retirement yesterday after years of sterling service in the black jersey. This is one player which I find impossible not to like. His exemplary attitude on and off the field was well documented. He once won a fairplay award after coming to the aid of injured Colin Charvis, the Welsh skipper in one of their many bruising encounters. The fact that he quits the international stage while still at his peak to spend more time for his family sums up the kind of man he is. The game has truly lost one of its great players.

Skipper Umaga announces retirement from All Blacks

By David Brooks

WELLINGTON, (AFP) - New Zealand captain Tana Umaga drew the curtain on a glittering international rugby career Tuesday, announcing his retirement from playing for his country to spend more time with his family.

Umaga, 32, played 74 Tests for the All Blacks and 21 as captain since taking over from Reuben Thorne in 2004. Renowned for his crunching tackling and strong running, he played his first 18 Tests on the wing before moving to outside centre and inside centre, scoring 36 Test tries.

"I want to spend more time with my family, and I just believe I sacrificed a lot of time with my family to wear the black jersey," he told a press conference. "I did that willingly but now it's time for me to sacrifice something and give it back to my family."

All Black coach Graham Henry said he was sad and disappointed by the decision of his dreadlocked skipper but agreed with his reasons. "I think its a reflection on Tana's strength as a person and development as a person that he's got his priorities right," Henry said. "This day is a special day I think. This is one of the great All Blacks and he's retiring from the game. He was great as a player, he was very brave, led from the front, a fine defender, a huge determination to win, one of the great All Black captains."

Umaga was born near Wellington of Samoan parents and was the first player of Pacific Island descent to lead the All Blacks.
His final season was an exceptional one for the All Blacks, who swept the Lions 3-0, won the Tri-Nations competition, and pulled off a Grand Slam win over Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland.

Tuesday's announcement ended months of speculation following press reports late last year that Umaga would be playing his last match against Scotland. He first broached the possibility of retirement with Henry in June last year but the coach persuaded him the prospect of the Grand Slam -- only the All Blacks' second in a century -- was too good to miss.
He told his fellow players after the Scotland Test he had played his last match in the black jersey but asked them to keep quiet so he could tell his family on his return to New Zealand.
He will continue to play for the Wellington Hurricanes in the Super 14 competition and for his Wellington provincial side until his contract expires in 2007.
His final year was marred by a controversial tackle on Brian O'Driscoll in the first minute of the first Lions test last year, which put the Irishman out of the rest of the tour. But Umaga was otherwise admired as one of the game's hardest but fairest players.
Despite speculation in the British press, he said he had no plans to take up a lucrative overseas contract as many other New Zealand players have done. "I don't fancy going away and leaving my extended family and a great environment to bring up my children," he said.

Bochap's Wedding - Extension

I was about to post something about Bochap's wedding but NoniKapet beat me to. But you left out something. Apart from the heated discussion about marrying janda(s) (Janda F5 '93...muahahaha), the focus of the day was very much distracted by the overly curvy bridesmaid. Even Hj . Auzir couldn't resist it. Here's the pic....

(p.s: Betoiiii...real life lagi curve abis...tak caya tanya Auzir; kepada sesapa yang berminat, Bochap kata available lagi.)

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha

Maybe because of the worries that work is piling up on me or the guilt of taking leave so early into the new year. Still, aku belum pun buat apa-apa lagi since masuk ofis. Anyway, it is now 9.30 am. Ofis senyap gila. Rasa macam kerja 'graveyard' shift je.

So kepada sesapa yang ada kat ofis (and dekat rumah as well, tapi kalau dah kat rumah tu, buat le benda lain yang berfaedah) & happens to come across this blog, Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha.

NY Resolution No.1

To fulfill one of my NY resolutions, I resolutely put on my jogging shoes (I do have one, though it has been gathering dust for quite some time) & dragged my heavy self to the jogging track yesterday. It was a 400m track at a mini stadium in Seremban. With the zeal of track athelete and the weight of not-so-heavy heavyweight boxer, I took to the track with aim of at least 6 rounds. Alas, the legs could only take 4 rounds before they started to think for themselves.
